Brooding.. To Singapore or Not?

I said this to Senthil last night in response to his question, how my training was for Singapore:
For my dreams about running marathons I need money
For money I need to work
If no work, no money, no running marathons (overseas).

In fact I am about 86% on track with my training plan for Singapore, and another 6 weeks to go. Still time to catch up and finish the marathon strongly. But my work demands are so much now that I am pretty close to jettisoning my plans to run in Singapore. Just the thought of being free from the bondage to a training plan seems to be liberating. This week at work is a classic example, Wed night I was at work till nearly 1 AM, the next morning my plan was to run 13km... but I slept in, no time to make up in the evening. I seem to be more against running in Singapore this year than for. Looks like I am close to the decision but don't want to confront it yet.

Right now my priority is work. I have to deliver this project I am responsible for, and it needs my time and energy big time.

On another note. I always say, "if you want something badly, you've got to make time for it". Here is something I came across from the archives:
A young man asked Socrates the secret to success. Socrates told the young man to meet him near the river the next morning. They met. Socrates asked the young man to walk with him toward the river. When the water got up to their neck, Socrates took the young man by surprise and ducked him into the water. The boy struggled to get out but Socrates was strong and kept him there until the boy started turning blue. Socrates pulled his head out of the water and the first thing the young man did was to gasp and take a deep breath of air. Socrates asked, 'What did you want the most when you were there?" The boy replied, "Air." Socrates said, "That is the secret to success. When you want success as badly as you wanted the air, then you will get it." There is no other secret.

Adios for now.

Dude, I am missing my weekly runs regularly. What I am doing now is the MSD and LSD. I am close to 30% off target. I hope you keep at it as far as possible. Honestly, you are a big figure to look up to, to try and keep schedules! Since I see that you were missing this morning (sunday morning), I am fearing the worst.
